Digital Makers Camp (Aged 9+)
Let your child explore their creativity using the latest digital technologies. They will spend each day making their own unique creations to take home.

Robot Makers Camp (Aged 12+)
Enter the world of Robotics to build, control and program an ‘ArtBot’ that can create pictures, navigate mazes and make sounds. The camp will introduce the children to robotics, engineering and technology whilst making computer art.
Areas covered on the camp will include:

FABLAB @ MEC (Spark Project) – Friday 5th Feb – 10am to 3pm
As part of the Leitrim Spark project organised by Leitrim Local Enterprise Office and Leitrim Arts, FABLAB Manorhamilton are delighted to participate in a one day event at the Mohill Enterprise Centre on Friday 5th February from 10am to 3pm. The FABLABMH team will be bringing their mobile Fab Lab to the MEC to give workshops, talks and demonstrations of all the Fab Lab technologies and concepts, to hopefully inspire some innovative thinking that will contribute to the Spark project. This year the chosen Spark artist-in-residence is Leo Scarff, designer, maker and FABLABMH co-founder. Leo is collaborating with the MEC to bring some design thinking strategy and community interactions to generate new ideas, products and even a little art.

Creative Frame Launch Event at The Dock, Carrick on Shannon – Fri Feb 5th from 6:00pm to 9:00pm – FablabMH will be part of the presenting panel.
We are pleased to invite you to the launch of Creative Frame on Friday 5th February, 6-9 pm at the Dock, Carrick-on-Shannon.
If you know of anyone else who would be interested in coming along please feel free to share. This event is open to practitioners from all areas of the creative sector. It will be a valuable opportunity to see what Creative Frame offers and to meet with different people you may not have had the opportunity to meet before. On the evening, together with the launch of Creative Frame’s website www.creativeframe.eu
There will be a number of Pecha Kucha style presentations by Architect – Dominic Stevens, Visual Artist- Ruth Le Gear, Songwriter/Musician – Ailie Blunnie & Co Director of the Fab Lab, Manorhamilton- Stuart Lawn, practitioners representative of the diversity, breadth and size of the creative sector in this region. Refreshments will be served and the evening will be topped off with some music and an opportunity for people to meet up and network in a more casual setting.

Christmas Craft Workshop
Join us in the creative atmosphere of FABLAB Manorhamilton for a Christmas Craft Making Workshop. A special opportunity to create festive items that you won’t find in the stores or local markets.
- Design and make unique contemporary and traditional Christmas decorations using the latest digital technologies.
- Craft personalised decorations and gifts from wood, plastic, acrylic, vinyl and paper using our Laser and Vinyl Cutting Machines.
- Crafts will include a variety of Christmas tree, window and table-top decorations, cards and gift tags.
- We’ll provide the knowledge, machines, tools and all materials and participants will go home with individually crafted pieces.
No previous experience required.

One Day Introductory Workshops
Throughout October and November we are running one day introductory workshops on all the technologies in the FABLAB. All workshops run from 10am – 4pm and cost €60 each. Discounts available for booking 2 or more workshops.
Saturday 3rd October – Laser Cut Design and Creations
This one day workshop will give you an understanding of the range of applications that the Laser Cutter can be used for, such as jewellery, signs, toys, models. Beginning with an overview of 2D design software, you will have hands on experience designing your own personalised projects to cut and engrave in wood, paper and plastic. Designing in 2D for 3D construction will also be demonstrated.
Saturday 17th October – 3D Scanning and Printing in Action
This one day workshop will walk you through the various processes and technologies that are used in 3D Scanning, Designing and Printing. You will get hands-on experience with 3D software and hardware and by the end of the day be able to take your first steps into the world of 3D design and printing.
Saturday 7th November – Create Simple Gadgets with Arduino and Raspberry Pi.
This one day workshop will get you started in electronic prototyping and making simple gadgets using the popular Arduino board. It will also introduce other microcontrollers such as the Raspberry Pi and show you how connecting simple gadgets to the internet can create what is being called the “Internet of Things”. No previous electronic or coding experience required but please bring a laptop. A limited number of Arduino boards will be available for use during the workshop but it is advised to purchase an Arduino kit ahead of the workshop for €35. Combined Workshop and Kit Tickets are available.
Saturday 21st November – Vinyl Cut Design and Creations
This one day workshop will show you the many uses that the Vinyl Cutter can be put to, including T-shirt making, screen printing and wall art. You will get hands on experience in designing graphics for successful Vinyl Cutting and a number of personal projects will be worked on during the day. We will also demonstrate combining Vinyl Cutting with Laser Cutting for creative signage.
Whether you are an experienced maker or a curious beginner we invite you to come to the Lab to make, learn and share your knowledge over the course of 6 evenings to create and collaborate on your dream project. All the FABLAB equipment will be available for you to use and the FABLAB staff will guide and inspire you to create something personal and unique.

Halloween Maker Camp (Ages 9 – 14)
Some digital tricks to make some spooky treats. Following the success of our Young Digital Makers Summer Camps we are running 2 days of Halloween themed designing and making just in time for the big day!

Green-Door Leitrim 2015
Inspirational Homes Leitrim are holding the 3rd Green-Door Festival from Friday 27th – Sunday 30th August. Green-Door is a Festival of Rural Architecture & Design; a weekend of homes with sustainable features and ways of living, all open to the public.
As part of Green-Door 2015, FABLAB Manorhamilton will host Javier Burón, Director of Fab Lab Limerick and senior lecturer at the School of Architecture University Limerick and founder of Colaborativa.eu a design, technology and social action agency.
On Saturday 28th August from 2:00pm-5:00pm, Javier, along with the FABLAB team, will present a workshop entitled Nature’s Design – A Dome Building Workshop.
In this workshop Javier will take you through the history and science behind these beautifully simple structures and all participants will get hands on experience in building a dome. We want anybody to be able to build strong, affordable and locally made geodesic buildings and this workshop will give you the knowledge and resources to start designing your own. At the end of the workshop you will have a chance to purchase a beautiful desktop dome kit designed by Javier to build at home.
On Sunday 29th August, FABLAB Manorhamilton will be open house from 12:00pm until 4:30pm.
Visitors can see four short demonstrations of each of the technologies and learn more about their practical applications and projects in which they can be used.

Extended Territories Exhibition – 13/03/2015
From Friday 13th March until Friday 27th March the Harnessing Creativity programme presents the culmination of their 2 year cycle. Expanded Territories explores the outcomes of bringing together people from divergent industries, fields and disciplines and encourages them to create solutions together, step out of their comfort zones and collaborate, support and inform each other. Expanded Territories will demonstrate the creative and innovative talents of the region, and highlight the distinctive resources and character of the region articulated through prototype products, concepts and experiences.
Leo Scarff from FABLAB Manorhamilton has been facilitating the participants on the programme and giving advice and direction on Product Design.

Pop Up Fab Lab – 05/02/2015
In conjunction with the acclaimed Fab Lab Nerve Centre in Derry we will be setting up a Pop Up Fab Lab and will be on hand to demonstrate technologies such as 3D Printing, Laser Cutting, CNC Milling, Vinyl Cutting and Open Source Electronics. You will experience how a Fab Lab can offer significant benefits to education, industry, artistic design and essentially facilitate anyone to make (almost) anything. Real world examples of Fab Lab designed and produced products will be on show to inspire.
